Walk-a-thon
CIMI's 1st Annual Walk-A-Thon to promote Kidney Disease Awareness was held in Sicklerville, NJ on September 23, 2007. This event was sponsored by CIMI in-conjunction with the National Kidney Founation. Berch Harris, who suffers from kidney disease, felt that this was an excellent opportunity for CIMI to become active in raising awareness.
CIMI's Founder: " The sole purpose for CIMI's hosting of the Walk-A-Thon was to raise the awareness of individuals who may think kidney failure is a disease for elderly. I wanted to take charge and lead by example! Just because I have a chronic illness, it surely doesn't mean my life is over, or my dreams for the future should come to an end."
Prizes and giveaways were awarded to participants. It was an exciting event we all lost a few pounds in the process. "HOPE TO SEE YOU AGAIN NEXT YEAR & AND DON'T FORGET TO BRING YOUR SNEAKERS!"
