Spring is here, which means it's time to repair what was damaged from the Winter. In other words, it's time to "Clean out and Restore" your body for a new season! We all neglect and abuse ourselves during the winter season by eating the wrong foods, not exercising enough, and using the wrong skin care products. Don't forget about stress, which is one of the biggest factors!
Here are some tips that will help you restore your body and spirit this spring:
Body: Start by eliminating all red meats and pork for a month. This will help to eliminate those extra pounds put on from the holidays. It will also help to promote a better cholesterol level....which leads to a healthier heart! Try to incorporate more fish into your diet.
Start exercising more! By exercising at least three days a week, you will help speed up your metabolism which leads to faster weight loss. This will also promote a healthier heart and distress your mind.
Drink more water!!!!! Your skin will look brighter, you'll help to purge your body of impurities and this will also help with digestion.
Skin: Go to your local dermatologist or day spa and schedule a series of Microdermabrasion. Microdermabrasion is the removal of "layers of dead skin", which a regular face scrub can not do. This technique helps to eliminate discolorations, uneven skin tones, moles and blackheads. Your skin will look flawless after it's all said and done!
Start using a SPF daily with a minimum protection of 15. Even woman of color should use an SPF! Even though we have more Melanin in our skin, this does not necessarily rule us out from developing skin cancer. Wearing a SPF daily will also prevent moles, freckles and fine lines.
Here are two products I recommend: Oil Olays Daily Defense with a SPF of 30 and Alba's Papaya Enzyme for exfoliation. Both products can be picked up from your local drug store.
Live well and good luck with your "Spring Cleaning"!
